Squashing the Golf Bug

Squashing the Golf Bug

At the conclusion of your swing you should be squashing the golf bug between your thighs.

Imagine you have a bug on the inside of your left thigh, for RH golfers. As you reach the finish position squash that bug between your thighs. Moving to this position will get your pelvis and your legs moving correctly.
When you squash the bug your golf shot accuracy and distance will improve. Improved accuracy and distance are a result of striking the ball with the club moving down the intended line and the club face pointing down the intended line. Move your hips and legs correctly to get the club facing down the line and moving down the intended line. As you squash the bug your trailing thigh moves laterally directly toward the inside of the target side thigh. This lateral movement of your thighs in turn encourages your pelvis to turn laterally toward the target instead of thrusting forward toward the ball. When your thighs and pelvis team up to move down the intended line you get maximum distance and golf shot accuracy. Always finish your swing squashing the golf bug.
