Powerful Golf Hip Rotation

Hi Dave Cahill here with Cahill Golf. Today we are going to talk about powerful hip rotation in the golf swing. We will talk about how the hips are restricted from turning, and more positively about removing restrictions to allow for a powerful, natural hip turn.
The correct movement comes from the inside of the right knee moving laterally inward toward the left knee on the way through. So the right knee does not move out or forward as this would cause the hip to be thrust out restricting hip rotation. Instead, as I move forward the right knee drops in towards the left knee. Because the right knee drops in towards the left knee the back foot pivots around the inside of the right foot. (Note, the back foot does not go forward to the toe or pivot around the toe.) To allow for powerful hip rotation in the golf swing the right knee has to drop in toward the left knee and that move will very naturally allow the hips to come through.
