Hip Rotation for Distance

Hi Dave Cahill here with Cahill Golf. Today I want to talk you about how we can use our hips in conjunction with the torso to create more speed, more power and consequently more distance. Incidentally shots will be straighter as well.
Be wary of turning your hips to early. The correct timing for the hip turn is to let your arms and hands drop down into place during weight transfer and then (see photo) turn hips and torso. The club will just rush right on through.

Continue the rotational motion past the golf ball until your arms and the club are horizontal with the ground. Maintain your spine angle. Your arms will be straight. Your wrists remain passive.
