Golf Drill – Arms on Forward Swing

Hi Dave Cahill here with Cahill Golf. Today I am going to show you a golf drill that will give you the kinesthetic feel of the arms dropping into the correct position during the forward swing.
Take a club into your hands and get into the proper posture position. Raise your arms straight up in front of you to about chest height. Now relax both the right and left arm. Allow the club, hands and arms to just drop, drop straight down. Do the drill a few times to get the feel of relaxing the arms completely. Then take the feeling of the drop to the back swing. During the weight transfer from the left to right side allow that same dropping feeling to take place. Notice your arms will drop to right here (see photo). I have finished the weight transfer and at this point I begin to turn.

Allow your arms to drop to about this position.

Allow your arms to drop to about this position.

When you allow your arms to drop into position you can get your best distance and accuracy.
