Fundamental 1 Rotation

Hi Dave Cahill here with Cahill Golf. Today is the first session of a five-part series of basic fundamentals of golf. The number one fundamental has to do with the rotation of the hips, shoulders and torso. Together they make the club move back and forward. This creates a consistent swing, and because it uses the trunk and hips together it creates power.  So while standing with the club out in front of you rotate back and then with the club still at waist level in front of you rotate forward (see video).

While standing with the club out in front of you rotate back with the club still at waist level in front of you, rotate forward.

While standing with the club out in front of you, rotate back and rotate forward.

Now get into your golf stance position and do the same thing; rotate back then rotate forward. This is the first simple golf fundamental.

PGA Instructor Mike Cahill and PGA Master Instructor Dave Cahill are here to help you play better and enjoy the game more. To learn more about the fundamentals of the golf swing please come see us in Palm Springs for golf lessons or visit us for a Palm Springs a Golf School.
