Full Shoulder Turn

Hi, Dave Cahill here with Cahill Golf. Today I am going to talk to you about getting your maximum distance with a full shoulder turn. Exactly how do you get your full shoulder turn? At takeaway, the shoulders turn perpendicular to the spine. And here is the moment of truth, once your hands reach about as high as the lower hip you want to complete the turn, right at that point. So, complete the turn there. Momentum will take you all the way back. Remember, at the point your hands reach about hip height complete the turn. Momentum carries your club nice and high and depending on your flexibility you might get all the way back parallel to the ground. Momentum will carry you as far back as your flexibly comfortably allows.

A lot of players imagine their full shoulder turn takes place at the end of the back swing. But, that approach will pull you off line.

The correct turn looks like this from down the line (see photos).
