Driver Hand Position

Hi Dave Cahill here with Cahill Golf. Today I am talking about the position of the hands at address when using a driver. Let’s start with the ball position and the hand position with an iron. I place the golf ball in the middle of my stance. I have my hand position so the butt end of the club is even with the inside of my left thigh. When using the driver always keep the butt end of the club even with the inside of the left thigh. Let’s take up the driver and see what happens. Remember, with the iron, I placed the golf ball in the middle of my stance. But, with the driver line the ball up with the big toe or inside of the left foot. Notice the butt end of the club is continues to be even with the inside of my left thigh. The ball position changed the hand position does not change.
