Alignment Sticks Increase Pitching Accuracy

Hi, Dave Cahill here with Cahill Golf. Using a set of alignment sticks during pratice is easy way to increase your pitching accuracy. I am talking about shots that are 30, 40, 50, 60 yards. You will need two alignment sticks* like the red sticks you see me holding. With the alignment sticks you will make a channel that is pointing exactly in the direction you want the ball to go.

Lay the alignment sticks on the ground making a nice little channel. Place the ball right between the channel. Make sure both sticks point in the same direction. Once the sticks are placed, stand behind the channel to make sure they are pointing exactly at the target.

This simple drill will get your feet lined up correctly. It will get you seeing where you are actually lined up. And, lastly and maybe most importantly this drill will help you line up the bottom of the golf club perpendicular to the line you want to swing through.

So, here I am: I have a good stance. I know where I am targeting. The bottom line of my club is perpendicular to the line I am going to hit on. Now I can hit a nice accurate shot.

*Alignment Sticks can be purchased in sport stores as a golf alignment stick or alignment pole or at a local hardware store as a driveway marker.
